Easy Apple Tart

        DSC_0244

I’ll just put it out there now – this isn’t my recipe. I got this recipe from ThePioneerWoman.com. She has the best recipes ever. Just check out the site. Here is her printable recipe for this quick and delicious Apple Tart. I’ll just show you my photos (with some annoying and un-needed non-humorous comments) of the steps to get you drooling over it.

Cuz you guys come here to drool over my photos, right?

Or is it for my sometimes funny, sometimes self-deprecating sense of humor?

Either way works for me.

I really, really need one of those apple core remover thingamajiggys. I was sighing and grunting through this whole process.

Get your hands into this mixture to coat the apples thoroughly.

First time I’ve ever used Puff Pastry sheets. I’m not much of a baker/pastry chef. Only 1 sheet is needed.

Before and After shots. I wanted to get a little creative to see what worked or didn’t.

The pastry sheet PUFFS towards the end of the baking process. Watch the oven carefully to see when it’ll happen.

My husband liked these little puffs the most. They were easy to pop into your mouth. I guess I’ll make em this way from now on.

They look like pigs in a blanket, don’t they? Except instead of hot dogs, they’re apples. Apples in a blanket.

I sprinkled with powdered sugar because, well, that’s all I had. No ice cream or whip cream on hand :(

Next time I should plan ahead of time…

See how pretty?

  5. Hi Rufor!
I update soupbelly as much as I can on a daily basis. I try to post at LEAST once a day, if not more. On weekends, maybe once on Saturday.

  6. I am so interested in what you have written here. I am definitely not a photographer. Actually I find photographing my food my least favourite part of blogging. Obviously it is incredibly necessary. Personally I wouldn’t try a recipe where I couldn’t see a picture. The thing is, I am a poor photographer. I almost never get accepted for foodgawker and taste spotting and find it beyond frustrating. I really appreciate the tips u offer. I am hoping to buy a new camera soon. I don’t want an SLR because, quite frankly they are about as easy to use as flying a plane. I also want something compact. Any ideas?

  7. Housewife – I get frustrated too, on foodgawker mostly. Sometimes you don’t have time to stop and really plan out a perfect, sharp photo as you’re cooking. I rather have my food come out good, and the pictures come afterwards.

You don’t need an SLR anyway!:) Pretty much all the compact digitals are very good quality, especially for web quality. I know alot of people with the Canon Powershots and their pics look fine. Just use enough lighting and your photos will come out in focus.

Andi – Thanks for the comments! They’re sushi plates…but they’re fun to use for everything else too!

  8. I am really enjoying reading your well written articles. It looks like you spend a lot of effort and time on your blog. I have bookmarked it and I am looking forward to reading new articles. Keep up the good work!
