Since a few of you are mentioning how you love the plates, they were purchased from Crate and Barrel, though I think these specific ones are discontinued :( But they have a few plates similar to these on their website!

Housewife – I get frustrated too, on foodgawker mostly. Sometimes you don’t have time to stop and really plan out a perfect,sharp photo as you’re cooking. I rather have my food come out good, and the pictures come afterwards.

You don’t need an SLR anyway!:) Pretty much all the compact digitals are very good quality, especially for web quality. I know alot of people with the Canon Powershots and their pics look fine. Just use enough lighting and your photos will come out in focus.

I am so interested in what you have written here. I am definitely not a photographer. Actually I find photographing my food my least favourite part of blogging. Obviously it is incredibly necessary. Personally I wouldn’t try a recipe where I couldn’t see a picture. The thing is, I am a poor photographer. I almost never get accepted for foodgawker and taste spotting and find it beyond frustrating. I really appreciate the tips u offer. I am hoping to buy a new camera soon. I don’t want an SLR because, quite frankly they are about as easy to use as flying a plane. I also want something compact. Any ideas?

I update soupbelly as much as I can on a daily basis. I try to post at LEAST once a day, if not more. On weekends, maybe once on Saturday.
