Photoshop before and after.

Photoshop before and after.

This is a Photoshop before and after image. The photo was taken from a very good friend of mine, who is one of the most talented photographers I know personally. He wanted some tips on how to use the new version of Photoshop. So naturally I demanded that he give me one of his photos to work with. He has photos from a billion different countries from all his travels. Yes, a billion. This one was taken from Alaska, and it looks like the middle of nowhere. Since he always has great composition in his shots, most of what’s been worked on is color.

I wanted to play with this image because there was a hint of orange in the bottom right side of the sky. And I knew the clouds could be enhanced.

I’ll post steps on Photoshop later.

  • Off Topic – could you please tell me how you came up with this name for the website and if it means anything in particular?
I’m guessing yummy soup in my (your) tummy? Or ?
Sorry if it sounds weird – I’m just a tad bit curious, that’s all.
And as far as picture editing wise advice…keep it up ! I’m sure there are plenty of your readers who would love to hear more.

  • Jen – Your photos always come out so beautiful on your blog! So if you think you have so much to learn you hide it well 🙂

Catalina – Every time I make my husband soup he eats 2-3 bowls, pats his tummy and goes ‘I have soupbelly’, hence the name was spawned.

    Happyface – sure, i’ll ignore you. Hehe…

I’ll work on showing the steps right this instant though.

  • South Africa also has a drinking clurtue second to none, and we often joke about the fact that our local passtime could be considered to be drinking and driving. As much fun as it seems at the time so crazy it is to find out that a good friend had lost his/her life the previous night. Our road deaths are some of the highest in the world, and our drinking and driving clurtue has got lots to do with it. Drinking and driving is something that should be guarded against at all times, not just over holidays and special occasions. Year round initiatives are required to both educate and scare people away from drinking and driving.Alcohol and motor vehicles just don’t mix, period!Take care until next time.Steven

  • OT but this might be positive news for the BDS effort. Israel is getting so desperate for celebrity talent, they paid $1 million up front to get Justin Bieber to perform. It looks like the promoters took a big hit on this one:Poor Israelis now becoming victims of extortion.

  • 186I hope we can see that too because too often I hear breatfeeding moms “condemn” formula or bottle feeding moms because they aren’t breastfeeding. It’s a mother’s choice on how she feeds her child, and as long as her child is getting the nutrition and food that the child needs, then that’s the important issue.
