I love jook!!! My mom used to make it. Hope you post it! We have been brinning and grilling our turkey now for the last 3 years. We use an apple juice or apple cider brine. Also making brussel sprouts and mash potatoes - keeping it real simple this year (just hubby and I) altho I just might have to make the oyster stuffing - sounds delish!

Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing!

I've loved reading about your cross-country travels! (I've been more than a little jealous of your adventure.)

Just wanted to share my daughter's comment as she was checking out the site with me... We have two cats, and she was delighted that they look like your two. Tank is our orange boy, and George is the one who looks like your Monkey. :)

Happy Thanksgiving! (My husband's cooking, so I'm relaxing. Ya right!)

Chiara - Oysters are the way to go this year! I haven't brined a turkey either, just roasted it with herbs and butter before. But I've seen so many people do it, and after tasting how juicy it is....I had to do it. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!!

April - Good luck to cooking your feast! Good idea to make a timeline (something I have to do also). Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Irish Pirate - I remember how organized you were with your feast. Everything you made came out great! I remember the candied yams too, everyone will love them :)

Nora - You're always invited! :P I'll set a plate out for you! We have enough food for 8 people! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Since we're doing a potluck this year, I can get away with only candied yams and fresh rosemary bread. Good luck with your feast - I know it's a huge undertaking!!

Candy, that's a good question! lol I started yesterday doing a few things and the rest I'll just space out making today. I make a time line of things I need to do and mark off as I go or my absent minded self would forget everything. I swear it's not as bad as it looks (I say that now, ask me again Thursday). I absolutely love deviled eggs! If my MIL wasn't vegetarian I'd make them with a little bacon in them..yum!

I hope you guys have a fabulous Thanksgiving in your new place!!

Your menu sounds great... and very similar to mine! I'm brining my turkey too (for the first time, I usually don't) and I'm also making oyster dressing. I hope they'll both turn out good!

April - how???? That sounds like so much work! I feel like such an amateur now with my menu of 5 measly items :P Deviled eggs sound great, my brother actually requested those, so I might add that now.

Momisodes - Happy Thanksgiving for you too!! Ok, I thought I was making way too much food...but your menu is enough for 30 people. Plus you have more colors on your menu too. I wanted orange and red things but I thought it would be overkill. Although....
I'm also looking forward to making turkey jook the day after. A quick bowl before Black Friday :P

I definitely think it is enough for 3. I love that you've planned your menu out. I've done the same in the last week after scouring recipes for days!
I will also be serving 3 people (one of them is a four yr old), but I tend to cook WAY TOO MUCH FOOD. But I do it on purpose so I can have leftovers :)

Here's my menu:

Roast turkey
Green bean casserole
Mashed potatoes
Sweet potato casserole
Cornbread stuffing
Cranberry sauce
Pumpkin pie
Apple turnovers

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
