Here are some pictures I took while hiking in Rose Canyon. I have yet to see any bobcats or coyotes. I did see a bunny-rabbit and an owl, of course both ran (flew) away from me because they were camera-shy.
And yes, I did say bunny-rabbit.

What?? Your car registration only came out to $550.57?? Hmm, mine initially came out to be over $2000. We told her to go back and check that again because SURELY she did something wrong… a half hour later she came back with a total of over $1000…NOT happy.
Our temporary solution? Well, let’s just say that we are still “visitors” of the great state of California…
Wow. Lovely photos!!
P.S. I just read the previous comment about your car registration. Woah! Why so much? I guess b/c of the economic state of CA. My registration was only 55 dollars (Texas).
Dear Neighbor – I actually argued the DMV person since I had an estimate before I went there, and it was actually suppose to be $208. So she punched a few numbers for me then said, it’s $208. Whoa….which I still willingly paid even though $208 is outrageous. But how could yours be $2000?? Down to $1000???? I swear I feel like they pulled the same trick on both of us. If you ever decide to ‘stay’ in the great state of California, and do register your car…be absolutely sure to look at the sticker they give you for your new license plates, and make sure it’s the correct month. They gave us all November stickers for our yearly registrations. Meaning, they ripped us off one month.
Memoria – I was told it was because the state needs money. The DMV ppl said they expect the costs to go down next year…but they also said it could go up. So…just another one of those sacrifices for living here…
My registration in NY was so low I don’t remember how much it was! :P
No offense to beautiful Rochester, but these pix make SD seem so much more inviting.
Candy and Memoria ~ it came out to be so much because the girl had no idea what she was doing (she had the nerve to act “annoyed” when we said that couldn’t be right). even after she came back with the $1000+ we still felt she had no idea what she was doing. but they made us pay over $300 right then and there and told us to pay up later. hmm….I don’t THINK so! yeah, it wasn’t a pleasant experience – not surprised about your sticker situation, btw.
other than that, sounds like you are enjoying SD so far! :) – even though it’s been pretty chilly lately (and you thought you were going to get away from the cold weather, haha, j/k)
Socki – I’ll be in Roch next week and I’ll be sure to capture the essence there for comparison.
Neighbor – Yea that’s pretty much the same experience I had. After I told her it was wrong she basically cut the cost in half then said, “you should’ve seen the mistake awhile ago”….excuse me?? I should’ve seen it? By reading your mind? The only reason I felt I needed cali plates was I didn’t feel comfortable riding around with NY plates…I feel like an easy target or something. It’s my NY paranoia. But it IS cold here lately…and rainy. :( I hope the weekend is better.
Well, as CA goes, so goes NY; we have a $4 billion budget shortfall, so Albany is looking for nifty ideas to fill the coffers. Our registrations are also going up, just not as much as CA’s – yet. :( (Hey, does CA have a “Fat Tax” yet?)
What is that photo with the fence??? It’s very evocative; the colors (except for the sky, LOL) are reminiscent of a sepia print. I love it.
Chey – I think they’re still working on a fat tax now (which I personally think is RIDICULOUS). I heard it was tax on stuff like soda and cooking oil. I don’t drink soda much, but cooking oil? You cook with it. You don’t drink it. :P
Anyway, I just upped the contrast on the photo with the fence. The color is what it is. It reminded me of sepia too :)
soo beautiful!! :) m loving the fourth pic especially! :D
