As people were getting over their hangovers yesterday, we took the opportunity to visit the San Diego Zoo. This blog doesn’t do the photos justice, if you want to see better quality photos (and more photos) visit my Smugmug site here. I will be adding to it continually, since I already bought a membership to the zoo and will probably be there again today. And tomorrow…
After I used up 100s of frames on the first exhibit of the Flamingos, I realized I should really move on and look at more variety before my battery went dead.
Ackkkkk!
In case you were wondering, I was using my Nikon D50 with a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5.6G ED VR lens. It’s a mouthful, but I copied and pasted that from the actual lens. Just to avoid confusion.
What that means is it’s a telephoto zoom lens for an SLR camera (only digital, no film) that has vibration reduction. So even Ms. Shaky Hands can even make a shot look steady and sharp. Plus, with a telephoto I was able to zoom into the animals.
I made the zebra pics black and white for fun…

love the photos! Like the last one a lot!
Thanks! The last one was my favorite too :)
