As you can see, we’ve been pretty busy cruising around the West Coast, eating this and that. Not really. Just catching up on all the past few months of backlogged photos I had on my computer. This was actually back in March…or Feb….
The best part of Balboa park is that there was a tamale vendor right across from the shave ice vendor. Oh, and…er…the scenery. That’s nice too. Balboa Park was designed by the same guys who designed Central Park in NYC, or at least that’s what the guy on the bus told us.
Photo above: Tamale with pulled pork. Sooooo gooooood. They always remind me of zongzi….except not really.
Watermelon ‘shave ice’. Wasn’t really shave ice….more like a sno cone. But hey, we aren’t in Hawaii.
Pineapple ‘shave ice’. I think I liked watermelon better.
Just a few other pictures for you…

Oooo, the tamal (the singular form of “tamales”) looks FANTASTIC!! I want one or 20 right now!!
I love that shot of the building in front of the water. It looks like it comes from a magazine or something. Wow. The fountain shot looks a bit phallic to me. LOL!! Dirty mind!
Your pictures are beautiful! That watermelon shaved ice looks yum!
