Back when I lived in San Diego, we ate a lot of fish tacos. A. Lot. And each restaurant used their own fish taco sauce. When we moved to Atlanta I craved fish tacos and had to replicate my own sauce for them, and this is what I came up with.
You probably have most of these ingredients in your fridge or pantry already, so it won’t be hard to add in this extra step to take your fish tacos to the next level. Once you make spicy fish taco sauce, you’ll never want to use tartar sauce again.
Spicy Fish Taco Sauce (serves 4-6)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 lime, juiced
- salt and pepper to taste
1) Mix all ingredients together.
2) Serve over your favorite taco.
4) Optional: Get rid of the old tartar sauce to make room for more Spicy Fish Taco Sauce.
